Sam Russo ND, LAc

Dr. Sam Russo, ND, LAc completed his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Doctorate Degree in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in 2002 then completed a residency in naturopathic family medicine in Brattleboro, VT. In 2004 he began an  extended preceptorship with Jonathan Fenton DO, RMSK in functional and regenerative orthopedic medicine and began studying musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has been practicing musculoskeletal sonography in 2006.  He is the first naturopathic physician registered in musculoskeletal sonography (RMSK) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is also the first provider RMSK in Vermont. In 2010 he started Vermont Naturopathic Clinic to continue to provide integrative adult primary care and functional regenerative orthopedic medicine.

Dr. Russo is past president of the Vermont Association of Naturopathic Physicians and has served as a naturopathic advisor to the Office of Professional Regulation in Vermont since 2006. He is the scientific editor for Better Nutrition Magazine.

An experienced naturopathic physician Dr. Russo has helped many patients with an integrative approaches to healing, drawing from naturopathic, functional, traditional Chinese and conventional medicine.  He is dedicated to empowering people to create optimal health through education, inspiration, and integrative therapy.

His focus on functional regenerative orthopedic medicine utilizes effective, long lasting practices, including acupuncture, herbal and nutritional medicines, manipulation and injection therapies as well as working with physical therapists.   He uses ultrasound imaging in the office for diagnostic assistance as well as providing tremendous precision when performing regenerative injection therapies including prolotherapy and platelet-rich plasma injections.
